ABOUT OUR COMPANY
When was the last time you saw a Canadian Musical? When was the last time you saw a show that really excited and inspired you? These are the goals of IANA Theatre Company, and the reasons behind it's founding.
In the fall of 2007, we decided that it was high time Canadian Musical Theatre started to get the respect it deserves. The Goal of our theatre company is to start producing Canadian Musicals and shows, to showcase what our country is capable of, and to bring compelling and relateable theatre to the Canadian audience.
Most Canadian Musicals are written, play once for about a month, and are then thrown on a shelf to be seen once or twice in some small scale production. Top quality musicals are being shoved aside on a regular basis because they do not garner the immediate acclaim that shows from other parts of the world do. It's high time that we started to take our theatre more seriously in this country, and start to produce some of our work.
IANA theatre company is dedicated to being a positive force for change in the world through both our business and artistic practices. Unlike many small theatre companies, IANA is a sole proprietorship instead of a not for profit. We are in the business of Musical theatre, and not only plan on standing alone and supporting ourselves throughout our producing career, allowing other organizations more in need of financial support to have that accessable, but also by donating and fundraiser for charities and not for profit organizations, giving back to the communities that we belong to, and perform in.
Our actors ensemble is made up of artists from across Ontario, and it is our great hope to be able to bring Canadian Theatre to audiences across the province by touring our productions, and doing our best to entertain and inspire the widest range of audiences that we can.
We LOVE theatre. It is our lives, our passions, and our dreams. We want to share this with you.
It is our great hope that we will be able to bring you, our audience, all kinds of wonderfully produced, absolutely stunning works of musical theatre, so that you will be moved, inspired, entertained and enlivened. We hope that you enjoy our shows, and can join us in celebrating this amazing country we live in!

Tim Porter
Tim founded IANA theatre company in the fall of 2007. He found the severe lack of Canadian musical theatre that was being produced apalling, and he was also frustrated with the large portions of Ontario that were starving for theatre production.
With a passion for producing, Tim set off to bring quality Canadian theatre to a wide range of regional viewing audiences. He is so excited about continuing to produce, and remounting some of Canada's best musicals for us all to enjoy.
Tim is a graduate of the St. Lawrence College Musical Theatre performance program. He spent three years there honing his skills as a performer, writer, and director.
