ABOUT OUR COMPANY
The Canadian Musical Theatre. What an elusive industry. Of the thousands of Canadian Musicals ever written, a slim few have ever been produced more than once. Fantastic shows, only ever seen by a few hundred people decades ago, sit lost in someones attic, never to see the light of day again.
IANA Theatre Company was founded in the fall of 2007 to become at the very least a small part of the solution. We believe in the talent, creativity, and ingenuity of Canadian Musical Theatre wrtiers and performers, and are determined to showcase it. Throughout our relatively short production history we have already mounted a full scale original Canadian musical, produced a long lost and forgotten Canadian classic, performed two original Broadway review shows, an original Canadian play, a smaller musical, and an original Christmas show.
Our ensemble of performers has been brought together by a passion for the theatre, and a love of this business. We take great pride in creating the best possible production for our audience, and are dedicated to building shows that are of a standard and quality unlike anything our patrons have ever seen.
We believe that the desire and the audience are there for Canadian Musicals, and that people can relate better, and be better entertained by ideas and productions that are closer to their reality. We have the potential to create shows that directly relate to our viewing audiences, creating a better theatre experience, so why shouldn't we dive right in?
Above and beyond all else we strive to create quality productions that will entertain, inform and inspire. We hire all Canadian cast, creative teams and crew, and build our shows for a Canadian audience. We hope that you will have the opportunity to join us for one of our original productions this year, in our very exciting 2011 season!
